University of Birmingham delegation visits Bio21
5 October 2016 The Bio21’s Associated Director Professor Spencer Williams and Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Professor Ian van Driel hosted a delegation from the University of Birmingham at the Institute, 5 October 2016. The visitors from the University of Birmingham included Professor Robin Mason Pro Vice Chancellor International, Professor Myra Nimmo, Pro Vice Chancellor and Head of College, Life and Environmental Sciences, Professor Ian Henderson, Director, Institute of Microbiology and Infection, Prof of Microbial Biology and Professor Jon Rowe, Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. They were accompanied by Steven Clowry and Jenna De La Rue, from the International Relations Office. The University of Birmingham has signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier in the year and is now seeking opportunities to collaborate and to strengthen of research exchange opportunities for graduate researchers. The delegation was particularly interested in Bio21’s platform technology facilities and the benefits of collocating research institutes and hospitals in a biomedical precinct.
