Professor Frances Separovic new Deputy Director of the Bio21 Institute.

Professor Frances Separovic has been appointed to the role of Deputy Director of the Bio21 Institute.

In accepting this role, Frances will be a key member of the Institute’s executive team, working closely with the Institute Director, Scientific Research Manager and members of the Institute's Management team to help deliver on strategic and operational plans. She will provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching and policy development in the Institute, the University and also within the community, professional, commercial and industrial sectors.

In line with this, Frances will contribute to the development of a gender policy for the Institute, guided, among other things, by the principles of the Athena SWAN Charter.

Frances is a researcher of international renown and long-standing, valued member of the Institute, who has demonstrated high level leadership and management skills in previous roles, most recently as the Head of the School of Chemistry. In this capacity, she has fostered and developed relationships with external stakeholders at an executive level.
