NMR Seminar - Paul Coote - Wednesday, 16 January 2019 @ Bio21

Wednesday, 16 January, 2019 - 12:00 to 13:00

What: Bio21 NMR Seminar - Optimization in NMR fragment screening and triple resonance experiments

Who: Paul Coote, Research Associate in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Harvard

When: 12 - 1pm, 16 January 2019

Where: Bio21 Auditorium

Abstract: Fragment screening by 1H and 19F NMR are important tools in drug discovery. I will discuss optimizing mixtures of fragments, automated analysis methods suitable for 1H (crowded) and 19F (sparse) fragment mixture spectra, and shaped pulses designed by optimal control theory for the large 19F chemical shift bandwidth. Also, I will present methods to improve sensitivity and resolution in NMR triple resonance experiments using optimized homonuclear decoupling pulses.
