The Bio21 Institute is open for the University of Melbourne's Open Day, 16th August 2015.
Discover research at The Bio21 Institute. Look into labs and meet the scientists!
We are running tours (no bookings required):
- Magnetic Resonance Facility
- Level 4 Laboratories
For prospective students interested in studying at the Institute, Bio21 Group Leaders and their research teams are from various faculties and schools across the University of Melbourne. These include:
- Faculty of Science (BioSciences;Chemistry and Physics)
- Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Dental Science)
- Melbourne School of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering)
Research at the Bio21 Molecular Science and Biotechnology Institute spans:
- Medical research (e.g. Neurodegenerative Diseases and Tropical Diseases)
- Agricultural (insecticide development) and Ecosystems Research (water monitoring; alpine ecosystems)
- Materials science and nanotechnology (printable organic polymer solar cells; synthetic organic chemistry; drug design)
