The Bio21 Institute is offering five summer research studentships for suitably qualified students with an interest in pursuing future studies including an honours program or research higher degree.

The studentships are offered for 6-8 week period and must be undertaken during December - February.  Financial support of $250 per week will be provided for the 2009/10  scheme. Supervisors must be available during the placement.

Applicants should have recently completed a relevant third year Bachelors degree or Honours year with a major in an appropriate science area.  Applicants are required to provide a written submission addressing the criteria below (no more than 2 pages) and append a copy of their academic record.

• Outline of the interdisciplinary project (projects must be agreed and endorsed by a Bio21 Institute based supervisor/s) - objectives
• Bio21 Institute based
• Academic record of the student
• Previous lab or research experience
• Future aspirations of the student
• Other relevant information

Applications are to be submitted to the Bio21 Institute General Manager by 16 October 2009. A report of up to 2 pages is to be submitted at the completion of the program outlining what objectives were achieved, learnings and student's experience.
